Senior Accountant – In Office (Houston, TX)

Summary |

ATSER is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support and strengthen our financial operations across the organization. In this key role, you will play an integral part in maintaining accurate financial records, optimizing accounting processes, and helping guide financial strategy. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and support budgeting, compliance, reporting, and tax preparation efforts to ensure timely, transparent, and reliable financial information that supports business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities |

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including analysis and recording of financial transactions in Sage 300 Construction & Real Estate (Timberline) and QuickBooks Pro.

  • Prepare and record month-end adjustments.

  • Reconcile bank accounts and prepare detailed bank reconciliation reports.

  • Review monthly inter-company transactions and monitor internal accounting activities.

  • Set up and manage new project jobs, contracts, work orders, and cost codes in Timberline; assign project numbers and approve project data sheets in DMS.

  • Prepare and issue monthly customer billings for ATSER LP and ATSER SYSTEMS.

  • Assist with federal tax return preparation for company entities and owner personal returns.

  • Serve as backup support for accounts receivable deposits and accounts payable processing.

  • Prepare annual rendition reports and franchise tax filings.

  • Perform other accounting duties as directed by the Controller and CEO.

Required Skills and Qualifications |

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills; familiarity with Sage Timberline and QuickBooks Pro preferred.

  • Experience with federal tax return preparation is a plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
