As Houston prepares for its population to nearly double over the next two decades, METRO launched an ambitious vision to expand mobility, reduce congestion, and improve accessibility for all residents, including seniors and individuals with disabilities. The $7.5 billion METRO Next Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) outlines major enhancements across multiple transportation modes, rail, bus, transit centers, accessibility programs, and infrastructure modernization.
The Challenge
Delivering a multi-billion-dollar, multi-modal program of this scale requires a unified system capable of managing thousands of activities across planning, engineering, construction, and operations. METRO needed an agency-wide project controls software solution that could centralize documents, monitor cost and schedule performance, ensure quality compliance, support interdepartmental coordination, and provide real-time transparency to leadership. In addition, oversight of the METRO Solutions Phase II rail and transit expansion required robust auditing, quality assurance, and electronic verification of contract compliance.
