PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP VISITS ATSER™ CLIENT TO DISCUSS NEW WAYS TO STREAMLINE LARGE INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS
August 14, 2020
Atlanta, GA On July 16, 2020, President Donald Trump visited Atlanta to discuss ways to simplify and improve Georgia’s large infrastructure projects. According to Channel 2 WSBTV.com news staff (July 16, 2020 – 10:46 AM), Trump announced he’s making changes in the environmental review process. He believes these changes will cut the permitting time for big infrastructure projects from seven years to two years. According to WSBTV, the President also said his policy changes will benefit the expansion of the I-75 south of Atlanta. The I-75 Commercial Vehicle Lanes Project is the first of its kind in America and will allow 77 new miles for commercial vehicles, saving drivers hundreds of hours a year.
While others believe the President’s policy change is not a good idea, U. S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao said it will improve coordination between government agencies, will reduce paperwork, and will increase public participation.
