ATSER Houston Office, Announces New Vice President of Transportation
ATSER is pleased to announce that Jerry L. King, PE has joined the firm as Vice President of Transportation. He is responsible for all transportation-related projects for the firm throughout the State of Texas.
King brings to ATSER over 40 years of extensive leadership, design and management experience in traffic and transportation projects, working in both the public and private sectors. He began his career in 1961 with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and in 1963 joined the City of Houston, Traffic and Transportation Department. During his 17-year tenure with the City, he served as Director of the Traffic and Transportation Department and as the Director of Public Works and Engineering. King also served as Deputy General Manager and Assistant General Manager of the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) for eight years.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas. He has also completed training at Yale University (Bureau of Highway Traffic); Carnegie Melon University (Professional Urban Transportation); and Harvard University (J.F. Kennedy School of Government). King is a Licensed Professional Engineer.
