- Assure-IT™ Implementation for I-15 Expansion Project
- Client: Utah Department of Transportation
- Location: Salt Lake City, UT
- Project Value: $1.3 Billion
ATSER was responsible for verification of the construction quality results of 22 miles of I-15 design-build reconstruction for the Utah Department of Transportation. This was done with a highly compressed construction schedule of only 60 months progressing at a rate of over $1 million per day.
Salt Lake City, Utah was awarded the 2002 Winter Olympics. In order to address the expected increase in traffic the Utah Department of Transportation was authorized to reconstruct 22 miles of Interstate 15 freeway. A project of this size was normally a 10 year process through traditional design-bid-build delivery systems in which UDOT was responsible for design, construction and quality. UDOT decided to undertake a design-build delivery approach in order to compress the schedule to less than 60 months and to contract out verification of quality results. The schedule resulted in over $1 million per day of construction.
ATSER developed a client server laboratory information management system that provided construction quality results. ATSER’s client server software was used to import the quality data into Assure-IT™ and to statistically verify the data.
ATSER verified the Quality Analysis results of over $1 million worth of construction per day and was a key contributor to the team that successfully completed the project in less than 60 months. This project illustrated ATSER’s ability to work in a challenging, fast paced environment requiring innovation and software development expertise.
