Every Project is inundated with drawing changes through the manufacturing and construction process. The NDCC notification of design change, is a cumbersome and inefficient manual and/or semi-manual process. The drawing changes create an updated version of the original. Problems arise about if the crew is building to the correct drawing or, which portion of the ODD (Original Design Drawing) will be unaffected by the new version, thereby allowing progression on unaffected areas. Building on wrong drawings are costly errors.
The construction crew often stop work as a result of a NDC. The drawing representing a scope of work may under go unknown design changes. These unknowns changes may result in stopping work as a result of working on an area that may be revised!
